Hello, I am Yadu Pokhrel, an Associate Professor at Michigan State University. I work in the broad areas of climate change and water resources, including impacts of climate change on water resources and the consequences on different societal sectors. I am interested in better understanding the linkages between climate extremes (e.g., floods and droughts) and human migration, and develop adaptation strategies to address these issues. Models form the core of my research framework, but I use socioeconomic information to drive the models and utilize model outcomes to address societal issues, holistically integrating the evolving natural- human systems. My current projects are in Southeast Asia (Mekong River basin), South Asia (India and Nepal), Africa (North Africa and Sahel), South America (Amazon River basin), American Southwest (Colorado River basin). I also use global models to address broader climate change issues. I look forward to new collaborations (More here: https://water.egr.msu.edu/)!
