OCEAN Sustainability Pathways for Achieving Conflict TransformationConflicts about how to harness benefits from marine resources are widespread, intensifying, and unfolding in unprecedented ways. They include long-standing conflicts between activities like fisheries, marine conservation, coastal tourism and oil and gas exploration, as well as newly emerging conflicts related to climate change and/or the Blue Growth initiatives (e.g., (e.g. aquaculture, blue biotechnology, seabed mining, ocean energy etc.). OCEANS PACT strives to construct a co-designed, transdisciplinary, action research engagement to develop deep insights about diverse ocean conflicts through real-world collaboration of context-specific research teams that include stakeholder partners, social and natural scientists, and conflict resolution experts. We adopt as casestudy approach include diverse types of conflicts in South Africa, India, Brazil, Norway/Barents Sea, Baltic Sea and United States. OCEANS PACT aims to generate scientific, socio-political and practice benefits in our case studies, and enable scaling up of insights, tools and conflict transformation practices that foster global ocean sustainability.See also: https://oceanspact.eu
